Tahoe, Stand with Standing Rock! Bring your friends and family for an evening of music, inspiration and solidarity. Together as we dance and sing, we stand in solidarity, united with our mother earth, our people, and the brave warriors on the front line of Standing Rock. We may not all be able to stand on the front line of Standing Rock ourselves, but by coming together as one we can send our support to the Standing Rock warriors, sending them our love and the resources they need to continue their valiant fight. Join Tahoe for Standing rock for a benefit concert on December 3. 100% of proceeds will go to the Standing Rock movement to be used in whatever way the warriors of the front line deem most effective and necessary.
This is a family friendly concert so no one needs to be left at home. This is an opportunity to celebrate life, our community, our freedom and our music while supporting the life, community, freedom and music of our fellow people, our brothers and sisters in North Dakota.
We are collecting donations and a few people will be heading out to Standing Rock to deliver. See end for current needs and drop off locations around the lake.

1:30pm - 1:30pm - Elders from the Washoe Tribe will lead us in Opening Prayer Ceremony.
Dinah Pete is called upon to do the opening prayer for most conferences. She speaks Washoe and is considered by the tribe to be a wealth of history. She said her family used to clear trees just as the workers were doing today. "I know a little bit of our culture. We try to teach our younger children our cultural ways." said Pete
Benny Fillmore was born in Placerville, and grew up in Fallon Nevada. A Washoe tribal member, he is a lifelong activist and any given day might be found helping a neighbor, leading a prayer, carpentering, or spending time with his six children or nine grandchildren. Three of his children are in Standing Rock now.
Little Miss Washoe '16-'17, Nevaeh Lannay Montoya will be sharing why this is so important to her and us during the opening ceremony along with our Elders.
2pm - Music with Neena McNair Family Singers
Neena McNair Family Singers is a Native American women's drum group, including members from Sacramento to Reno, dedicated to the preservation of contemporary and traditional songs by gathering the people. Through the drum, we are honored to amplify the prayer of the peaceful water protectors at Standing Rock, North Dakota.
2:30pm - Joaquin Fioresi
"Fioresi’s lyrical message of peace and harmony walks a fine line, celebrating self-awareness and inspiration without resorting to pseudo-intellectual new age psycho-babble. His musical evolution parallels his own growth as a poet, healer and musician".
~Mike Roberts, Mountain Democrat

Long time Kings Beach resident Peter Joseph Burtt is a lifelong drummer and singer/songwriter. His music draws from many sources to inform his music and chronicle the years he spent living and studying with master musicians of Africa.
